Are you struggling to transform your expertise into a profitable personal brand? Maybe you’ve got the skills and experience to dominate your industry, but the clients and opportunities feel out of reach. Friend, let me tell you a secret: the difference between a struggling personal brand and a thriving one comes down to one thing—clarity.
Hi, I’m Brianca! As a personal brand and markeTing strategist, I help high-achieving women transform their corporate expertise into coaching or consulting businesses that not only pay well but align with their purpose. If you’re ready to create a standout brand that attracts premium clients without sacrificing your peace, you’re in the right place.
Let’s dive into actionable steps to build your personal brand online and make it work for you.
Step 1: Identify Your Ideal Client
You can’t create a personal brand that stands out if you’re trying to speak to everyone. Your message will end up vague, generic, and, let’s be honest, forgettable. The magic happens when you get specific about your audience.
If you’re unsure of who exactly that it is you’re trying to talk to, I want you to take a second and think about a favorite client that you worked with in the past or someone who you follow that you just know would be the perfect fit for your business and what you have to offer.
Do you have them in your mind? Perf, now, ask yourself:
Who are they - race, age, gender, income status, marital status, occupation, etc.
Why are you drawn to them or why did you like working with them so much?
What are their biggest pain points?
What keeps them up at night?
What transformation are they looking for?
Why would they choose me over someone else?
For example, if you’re a career coach, don’t just say that your ideal clients are “professionals.” That’s lame. Instead, you might drill down to say that you work with “mid-career women in tech who feel stuck in roles that don’t align with their skills.”
Having this level of detail helps you craft a message that resonates deeply because now you speak to the specific desires, pain points, motivations, and triggers of this person. And don’t forget—your personality is a part of your brand. People connect with authenticity, so bring your unique voice to the forefront when you’re talking to or creating content for your ideal client. This is one thing that will really help you to stand out.
Step 2: Create a Premium Offer
Your expertise is valuable, but if your audience doesn’t understand how it benefits them, they won’t buy. Here’s where clarity comes in again: define the problem your ideal clients face and how you’ll solve it.
Reflect on your corporate work and unique experiences, considering how these can prove transformative for others.
Determine the steps you'll deliver to help them achieve the promised transformation.
Think about the work you’ve done in corporate or previous roles. What unique insights or proven results can you offer? Use both qualitative and quantitative data to craft an offer that not only solves a problem but feels transformative.
For example, I spent my career marketing. I’ve had just about every role you could think of and while working as Digital Director for one the largest gubernatorial campaigns in history, I realized how many business owners were struggling to grow their business because they didn’t understand the power of personal branding. I started thinking about how I could help these business owners and decided to create my Clarity to Coins curriculum.
Clarity to Coins is a membership with curriculum, coaching, and community that helps clients build offers that are aligned with their skills and irresistible to their audience.
What problems are you seeing with your audience that could be solved with your expertise and unique experiences?
Is it a coaching or consulting offer?
The Difference Between Coaching and Consulting
Coaching is a personal process that helps people develop skills and achieve goals. As a coach you are normally working to pull the answers out of your client.
Consulting is a structured process that provides expert advice to solve problems. As a consultant, you are advising your client on what to do.
Pro tip: Before launching your new offer, it’s best to conduct market research and test it out with your ideal clients.

Step 3: Simplify Your Messaging
I want you to remember that your messaging should do two things: explain the transformation you offer and make your audience feel seen. Connection is key, and the best way to connect is by keeping things simple.
Instead of trying to sound overly polished or professional, speak the language of your audience. How do they describe their challenges? Use those phrases in your content. And don’t be afraid to get personal—share your story and show how it aligns with the transformation you’re promising.
When trying to solidify your messaging, you need to be on clear on the 5 P’s:
Positioning - Positioning defines what you want to be known for in the market and how you want to be perceived by your ideal clients. market
Person - Your "Person" is your ideal client avatar with detailed information about their:
Process - The process details the steps you take to deliver the transformation your client seeks. I help my clients identify their unique framework inside of the Clarity to Coins Membership.
Promise - The promise is the specific result or transformation your ideal clients can receive from your service.
Proof - Proof includes testimonials or case studies showing the success previous clients have achieved by following your process. This should be both qualitative and quantitative data.
When you understand your 5 P’s you can begin to craft the foundation of your messaging which is your personal brand statement. Here’s a super simple framework you can use:
For [ideal client] struggling with [burning problem], [your business name] is a [coaching/consulting service] that delivers [specific solution]. Unlike [competitive alternative], we [unique value proposition].
And here’s an example of this framework in use:
For busy executives struggling to maintain peak performance, Mindful Leadership Partners is an executive coaching program that transforms stressed leaders into resilient decision-makers. Step 4: Show Up Consistently
Consistency builds trust, and trust builds brands. Your audience needs to see you showing up regularly with valuable insights, solutions, and a clear message. But showing up doesn’t mean burning yourself out.
Here’s how to simplify your visibility strategy:
Choose a long-form content platform. Blogs, YouTube, and podcasts are great for SEO and organic reach. Optimize your content with keywords relevant to your brand, what you offer, and what your audience is searching online in order to get of front of them.
Pick a community-building platform. Social media platforms like Instagram or TikTok (if it’s not banned by the time you read this) let you connect with your audience more casually. Share behind-the-scenes moments, wins, and insights.
Leverage other people’s platforms. Guest posts, podcast appearances, and collaborations can help you expand your reach without doubling your workload.
Finally, repurpose your content. One blog post can become 10 social media posts, a newsletter, and even a podcast episode so that you don’t have to burn yourself out trying to create new content for all of the platforms. Leverage tools like ChatGpt and Claude to make the process easier for you and get your creative juices flowing.
Step 5: Trust the Process
Building a personal brand online isn’t a sprint. If you’re thinking that it’s going to be some magical get rich quick scheme, you will be sorely disappointed.
It’s easy to get discouraged if you don’t see results immediately, but remember, consistency compounds. Focus on progress, not perfection.
My client Rosalind came into Clarity to Coins feeling unsure about her offer and overwhelmed by marketing. By focusing on clarity and consistency, she not only launched her signature offer but also booked her dream speaking engagement and achieved a five-figure launch. Her success started with clarity and built momentum over time, using the exact same strategies that I covered in this blog post.
